Trios Health Partnership With RCCH HealthCare Partner Finalized

Officials at RCCH HealthCare Partners announced today that the previously announced partnership between RCCH and Trios Health will become effective August 4, 2018 at 12:01 am. The hospital will be operated by RCCH-UW Medicine Healthcare Holdings, LLC as a joint venture formed between RCCH HealthCare Partners and UW Medicine. The sale of Trios Health to RCCH follows the June 20, 2018 Plan of Adjustment approved by the Federal Bankruptcy Court.

Trios Health is the second hospital to be part of the innovative RCCH-UW Medicine joint venture. The other is Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Washington. The RCCH-UW Medicine joint venture is a unique public-private partnership designed to provide select community hospitals and related healthcare services in Washington, Alaska and Idaho with the tools and resources that are necessary to support and enhance medical care in communities throughout the Pacific Northwest region. The new partnership and its hospitals will benefit from and leverage UW Medicine’s work to achieve the “Triple Aim” of improving the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improving the health of populations, and reducing the per capita cost of healthcare.

Due to financial pressures, the Kennewick Public Hospital District (KPHD) filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection on June 30, 2017. The acquisition of Trios Health by RCCH HealthCare Partners was a key provision in the bankruptcy reorganization plan.
