Southwestern Medical Center (SWMC) is proud to announce, they’ve done it again! For the fourth year in a row, they have been named one of the Top Workplaces in Oklahoma. The Top Workplaces program recognizes companies that have created a great place for employees to work.
“Being named a Top Workplace in Oklahoma for four years in a row is such a great honor,” stated Steve Hyde, CEO, SWMC. “Employee loyalty is extremely valuable to the success of any organization. At Southwestern, we recognize loyal employees by providing them the tools they need to build a road to success, within our organization. I believe this culture is one of many factors that have allowed us this distinction, for the past four years.”
The Top Workplaces were determined through a partnership between The Oklahoman and Philadelphia-based WorkplaceDynamics (an employee survey firm). Beginning in June 2016, The Oklahoman ran articles and advertisements encouraging employees in the region to nominate their companies as Top Workplaces. To determine this, WorkplaceDynamics conducted employee surveys.
The survey included 24 questions covering seven factors. Key to those are organizational health factors, such as: employees feel appreciated and their work is meaningful; their managers care about their concerns and help them learn and grow; and the company’s values and future goals. Other factors included: employee loyalty, motivation and referral; confidence in leadership; and pay, benefits and flexibility. Statements relating to “feeling appreciated” and “where the company is headed” were among the most important to employees, while statements about pay and benefits rated among the least important.
“It’s paramount we honor our employees who work hard for our success,” said Hyde. “It not only benefits us, but the community as well.”
