Southwestern Medical Center Earns Healthgrades’ 2024 Outstanding Patient Experience Award
March 25, 2024
Southwestern Medical Center was recognized this week by Healthgrades as a recipient of its 2024 Outstanding Patient Experience Award™. This award is earned by only 15% of the approximately 4,500 hospitals across the country who are eligible for the honor, as evaluated by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting patients and providers.
“This honor is yet another validation of our efforts to deliver high-quality outcomes and positive patient experiences,” said Adam Bracks, CEO of Southwestern Medical Center. “We are thrilled to earn such a prestigious recognition while pursuing our broader mission of promoting the health and well-being of our community. It is quite a testament to our team and their commitment to providing the kind of skilled and compassionate care that patients truly appreciate.”
For the annual patient experience analysis, Healthgrades evaluated Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data against 10 patient experience benchmarks to identify the institutions such as Southwestern that display an unwavering commitment to prioritizing positive patient experience during a short-term, acute care visit.
“As consumers take a more hands-on approach to their healthcare journeys, hospital quality should be a top consideration when choosing where to receive care,” noted Brad Bowman, M.D., Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades, in his organization’s press release announcing the 2024 award recipients. “Our goal at Healthgrades is to offer direct, data-driven insights on the hospitals that make the safety and experience of their patients a top priority and consistently deliver exceptional results in this aspect of care. With this information, consumers can feel confident they’re making the most informed decisions about their healthcare.”
The Healthgrades recognition continues Southwestern Medical Center’s recent string of accolades that affirm the hospital’s reputation as one of the best in the state and country. In October, Southwestern was included in Newsweek’s listing of “America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2024,” and in August it was featured in the Becker’s Hospital Review listing of “2023 Great Community Hospitals in America.” Also in 2023, Southwestern was named the “2023 Best Hospital in Southwest Oklahoma” by the Lawton Constitution’s Reader’s Choice program.
“We are demonstrating that if you put together a great team committed to great care, a hospital located in a small community in southwest Oklahoma can stand among the best hospitals coast to coast,” said Bracks.
