Sleep study, also called polysomnogram, assists physicians in identifying sleep disorders. Patients will be instructed to sleep while wearing monitors that record physical behaviors such as breathing patterns, heart function, brain function and movements during rest. Most sleep studies consist of an overnight visit unless additional monitoring is required.
