Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine focuses on identifying, caring for and preventing adult diseases. Southwestern Medical Center has several physicians on staff who specialize in internal medicine.

The doctors who specialize in Internal Medicine are called Internists. Internists are responsible for treating patients over the age of 18 either in a hospital or private setting.  Internists differ from Family Medicine Doctors in that they do not treat minors.
